Job summary
This position is located within the Environmental Management Services Division of a VA Medical Center.Duties include but are not limited to performing floor maintenance wall washing cleaning doors doorframes baseboard corners and edges and stairwells tasks are accomplished by sweeping dust mopping damp and wet mopping scrubbing stripping refinishing buffing vacuuming and extracting carpets and runners spot cleaning areas high low dusting periodically utilizing pressure washers heavy industrial powered battery-operated equipment adjusting cleaning minor maintenance changing attachments for proper use in achieving best results emptying trash wastebaskets replacing liners transporting general refuse regulated medical waste recycling central collection areas cleaning rest rooms bathrooms shower rooms ensuring they meet acceptable standards replenishing supplies paper towels toilet paper hand sanitizers soap all areas dispensers located moving arranging furniture patient wardrobes beds etc assigned area accomplish cleaning tasks providing bed-making services patient care areas OD rooms cleansing mattresses springs frames bedside stands over-bed lights blood-pressure cuffs bed tables etc patient rooms removing bags soiled textiles patient rooms transporting designated soiled room ward area loading unloading clean textiles bulk carts restocking clean textile closets cabinets shelves carts participating inventory management activities defrosting cleansing refrigerators ice machines nourishment kitchen areas stainless steel counters elevators lobbies wards diet-kitchens nurse utility smoke water fountains ashtrays smoke urns designated smoke water fountains windows window ledges inside glass door glass surfaces replacing curtains blinds needles boxes Periodically cleans non-critical Reusable Medical Equipment RME inpatient clinical areas medical center Additionally position may work Compensated Work Therapy CWT worker perform other duties assigned
Responsibilities
