Rail Coordinator
Job Description
The Rail Coordinator will manage rail coordination for the Northeast, covering yards throughout NJ, NY, MA, CT, and RI. This role involves working with rail schedules and overseeing the movement throughout the railroad.
The coordinator will communicate with the rail crew through emails, text messages, and the CSX website, manage incoming rail cars, and update spreadsheets with car numbers, customer details, loads, and materials.
ResponsibilitiesCoordinate rail cars and update spreadsheets with relevant details.
Manage the layout and track assignments for each rail car.
Partner with the operations team to determine unloading order for tracks and cars.
Coordinate switches with the rails.
Track rail performance and identify service issues causing delays and demurrage.
Manage incoming rail cars for specific yards like Everette, MA and Providence, RI.
Work with dispatch to manage fleet of drivers, including trailers and Roll-Off containers for scrap metal transport.
Collaborate with third-party haulers and manage internal and external driver fleets using a dispatch program.
Essential Skills
2+ years of rail experience NEEDED.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel with 2+ years of experience.
Proficient in logistics and freight management.
Data entry skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Must be well-versed with rail operations.
Ability to quickly adapt and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Work Environment
The Rail Coordinator will work onsite, receiving training and guidance from a designated colleague. The role involves direct reporting and collaboration with the operations team. The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, providing an opportunity to gain valuable experience with a successful company.

This is a Contract position based out of Johnston, RI.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $ $26.00/hr.
