The position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.Duties
The position is located within the Dental Directorate of the Captain James A Lovell Federal Health Care Center (JALFHCC) in North Chicago Illinois The JALFHCC is the nation's first fully integrated federal health care facility integrating Veterans Affairs (VA) with the Department of War (DOW) specifically the United States Navy (USN) under a single chain of command The incumbent performs a variety of duties in a complex 1C medical facility which is constantly evolving within a highly competitive geographic area
Responsibilities
- Advanced Training and/or experience with Exodontia and other surgical procedures biopsycoronectomyimplant placementtori removal etc including simple and complex exodontia Privileges will include supplementals to support expanded practice and full scope of General Dentistry Comprehensive oral maxillofacial surgery examination consultation treatment planning historyand physical examinationand hospital admission Managementof cervical-facial infections comprehensive managementof oral manifestationsof chronic systemic disease repairof traumatic wounds dentoalveolar surgery extractionoftooth tissue impaction intentional tooth replantation or transplantation root-end resection ridge augmentation osseo-integrated implantsoral antral nasal fistula repair soft tissue grafts guidedtissue regeneration moderateand deep sedation excisionof benignmalignanttumors cystsofthe hardsoft harvestoftissue graft
