    As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic specializing in the civil construction industry, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of heavy machinery used in various construction projects.

    Your expertise will contribute to the efficiency, safety, and success of construction operations, including road building, site preparation, and infrastructure development.

    This position requires a comprehensive understanding of construction equipment, strong diagnostic skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of performance and safety.

    Manages all small equipment needs, including maintenance, repair, and storage.

    • Performs major and minor repairs on truck fleet and heavy equipment in a timely and efficient manner to reduce breakdowns and costs.
    • Performs diagnostics, maintains, and repairs company vehicles and equipment utilizing various methods, to include computer-based technology; assists with preventative maintenance (PMs).
    • Maintains and organizes the yard at the main office.
    • Performs minor repairs on truck fleet and equipment.
    • Orders parts as needed and acts as the primary parts runner for the shop/field.
    • Ensures the shop inventory and shelves are fully stocked; helps maintain shop cleanliness.
    • Ensures the administration and implementation of all shop policies and procedures (i.e. hot work, confined space, lockout/Tag out) conducive to an OSHA environment.
    • Performs the highest quality of work in the shop.
    • Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic in the civil construction industry, with a focus on repairing and maintaining construction equipment.
    • Strong knowledge of construction equipment systems, including diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and electrical components.
    • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.
    • Certification from a technical school or equivalent experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
    • A sharp eye for detail, ensuring the quality of every project is unmatched.
    • The ability to work across diverse locations and shifting schedules. Your adaptability is paramount, especially when weekend or overtime beckons.
    • Punctuality that showcases your commitment to making every project a success.
