    Perryville, KY 40468 USA Description The Perryville Battlefield State Historic Site is a 1,200 acre historic site with 19 miles of hiking trails.On October 8, 1862, cannon explosions shattered this tranquil countryside as Perryville became the site of themost destructive Civil War battle in the state. Today the battlefield is one of the most unaltered Civil Warsites in the nation with the vistas virtually the same as those the soldiers saw during battle. Although bestknown for the epic Civil War battle that occurred here, Perryville Battlefield is also a wildlife refuge thatfeatures a variety of wildlife and habitats. Approximately 1,000 acres of preserved land contains woodlands,grasslands, open prairie flowered grasslands, and dense thickets where dozens of species of birds can beobserved. The park has a dedicated "Bird Trail" that meanders through these habitats. The park has over 15miles of hiking trails that include both historic trails as well as nature trails.     The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor I position is responsible for the complete oversight of the parkgrounds, its maintenance employees, and its facilities.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Personnel management of maintenance employees.
  • Buildings and grounds oversight.
  • Ensure Parks standards and expectations are being met.
  • Fiscal responsibility for staying within Maintenance budget.

  • Minimum Requirements EDUCATION: High school graduate.
    EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, moving services or mechanical maintenance experience.
    Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
    Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.
    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE Working Conditions Will be on call 24 hours a day.
