- Develop a comprehensive giving program focused on securing Mid-Level gifts ($5,000-$24,999) by maximizing relationships with alumni, parents, and friends. Conduct outreach efforts and travel to make assessment and cultivation/solicitation visits to constituents and document the results of those discussions in the relationship/database management system. Where appropriate, arrange for meetings between these constituents and University Leadership.
- Implement best practices to engage alumni in lifelong progressive relationships with the University. Promote a comprehensive understanding of the University's mission, goals, and priorities and secure support for these initiatives.
- Identify, recruit, and cultivate volunteers to enhance alumni and donor engagement opportunities through small events and volunteer-hosted gatherings within a geographical region.
- Work with other members of the University Advancement Services staff to ensure that potential gift prospects are properly researched and assigned, that all solicitations are coordinated and completed and that donors receive appropriate acknowledgments and recognition.
- Where appropriate, transition prospects to the appropriate development officer for major gift cultivation and solicitation.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Bachelors' Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing or related field
- Minimum of two years' experience
- Experience may not substitute for education requirement
- Travel is required for this position
- Ability to work within a CRM
- Basic knowledge of fundraising techniques (qualifying, asks, objections, messaging)
- Confidence to solicit prospects for entry to mid-level gifts

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a Regional Giving Specialist in the Office of Advancement.
This position will develop and implement strategies to ensure the success of a regional giving program with alumni, parents/family, and friends with an emphasis on alumni engagement and mid-level giving as an integral component of the University's overall institutional advancement program.
The Regional Giving Specialist will deliver strategic outreach efforts to alumni, parents/families of alumni current students, and friends of the University and work closely with other units to develop unique opportunities for engagement leading to targeted solicitations to benefit the University.
This position will work closely with members of the University Development Office and other University personnel to translate the University's mission and goals into measurable achievements in engagement, fundraising, and the overall general advancement of UAB.
This position is hybrid-eligible after the probationary period.
Key Duties and Primary Responsibilities:
Annual Salary:
$47,665 - $60,000
