    Manages the documentation and closing needs of a diverse, complex portfolio of commercial loans including real estate. Reviews and understands commercial banking and loan terms and financial components; identifies potential problems and solutions. Engages and directs attorneys to prepare loan documents in accordance with policy and credit standards. Negotiates legal, policy and procedural components of loan documents. Mitigates documentation and operational risks, including serving as a screening process for issues impacting servicing of transaction. Confirms all loans are closed in compliance with Company procedures and relevant regulations. Coordinates closing activities with all parties involved, including loan funding and booking calculations ensuring all fees and expenses are accurate and documented.

    As the Commercial Loan Closer, you will:

    • Manage the documentation and closing needs of a diverse, complex portfolio of commercial loans, including innovation banking, construction, real estate and syndicated transactions of an individualized nature
    • Review and understand commercial banking loan terms and financial components; identify potential problems and solutions
    • Engage and direct attorneys to prepare loan documents in accordance with credit approvals, policies and credit standards
    • Ensure loan submissions comply with applicable internal guidelines, external regulations and unique investor requirements
    • Ensure all fees are properly and fully collected at closing
    • Responsible for transmittal of loan information to Servicing to support accurate servicing of the loan
    • Proper servicing of the transaction to ensure maximum recoverability on asset
    • Responsible for post-closing tracking, receipt and system input of all loan documentation
    • Engage, manage and direct external counsel to prepare loan documents in accordance with credit approvals, policy and credit standards
    For this role, HSBC targets a fixed pay range between $71,400.00 and $107,

    The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

    Requirements

    You'll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:
    • Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators
    • Paralegal certificate or Bachelor's degree in business, related field or equivalent experience
    • Minimum of eight years proven and progressive commercial loan closing experience with a bank or other financial institution, including experience closing commercial syndicated, construction or portfolio loans as well as experience with secondary market, conduit or CMBS product or equivalent
    • Strong communications, analytical, decision-making, organizational, follow-up and customer service skills
    • Ability to make decisions or scope solutions independently leveraging attorneys, business partners and other resources to provide efficient and appropriate solutions to issues as they arise
    • Strong knowledge of commercial and commercial real estate documentation, risk management and commercial loan products, servicing principles for commercial loans and pertinent state laws governing
    • Ability to evaluate, assess and mitigate risk inherent to closing process as well as ensuring adherence to banking regulations and policies and procedures while recognizing the unique, individualized nature of each commercial transaction, particularly syndications
    • Attention to detail and ability to evaluate particular situations and work independently to develop solutions
