Job description
Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Heavy Equipment Operator.An employee in this position operates heavy equipment, primarily a motor grader and performs manual labor to repair and maintain trunkline, primary/local roads, and right-of-way.

Schedule
Winter schedule:
Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with potential for overtime. May be required to work "double shifts for up to 16 hours in winter storm events.
Summer schedule:
Monday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with potential for overtime.
Required to be on call 24 hours, 7 days/week due to weather conditions.

Essential Duties And Functions
Operates a motor grader and other heavy equipment for road maintenance and construction.
Performs grading, shaping, and finishing of road surfaces.
Assists with snow and ice removal during winter operations.
Conducts routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
Works collaboratively with crew members to complete projects safely and efficiently.
Requirements
Qualified individuals will be expected to have:
Two years of heavy equipment experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
A high school diploma or equivalent.
A valid Michigan Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with no restrictions (excluding "K") and an "N" (tank) endorsement.
Salary:
$ $31.39 per hour
