DescriptionJob Summary: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Supervisor to lead our quality assurance efforts. In this vital role, you will oversee quality systems, ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes. Your leadership will help maintain the highest standards of quality control and inspection to support our commitment to excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following with other duties assigned as necessary:
- Supervise and coordinate quality assurance activities throughout the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, 14001 and other relevant standards.
- Lead quality audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality management systems.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust quality control procedures and documentation for all production stages.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues promptly and effectively.
- Conduct root cause analysis on non-conformances and oversee corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Train team members in quality systems, inspection techniques, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage internal audits and prepare for external inspections to uphold compliance standards.
- Full oversight of a team of quality inspectors, technicians and team leaders across 2 shifts.
- Work with Quality Manager to perform Root Cause analysis on non-conforming issues found during the inspection process.
- Adhere to ISO quality procedures and support internal audits to include leading a team of auditors.
- Maintain all inspection records relating to inspection activities.
- Adhere to all plant health & safety compliance standards.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes that enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
Physical Demands:
- Maximum lifting requirement (pounds): 75 (infrequently), 50 (occasionally), 25 (frequently).
- Maximum moving requirement (pounds): 150 (with assistance).
- Maintaining physical condition necessary for the following: Frequent standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, crouching, stooping, squatting, twisting upper body, or climbing.
- Working at heights off the ground up to 25 feet.
- Vision requirements: Close, distance, and peripheral vision; depth perception.
Work Environment:
- Work location(s): Metal fabrication/assembly shop; plant grounds; shop office with computer.
- Exposure to: Fumes, airborne particles, wet/humid (non-weather) conditions, toxic/caustic chemicals, moving mechanical parts/equipment, inclement weather conditions.
Personal protective equipment requirement: Safety glasses, safety shoes. Safety gloves and ear protection as necessary. Additional equipment for location requirements
QualificationsKey skills, abilities, and knowledge:
o Ability to read and understand job requirements and material specifications, shipping/receiving documents, shop drawings, and blueprints.
o Working knowledge of Excel and using an ERP system.
o Working knowledge of properties and composition of radiator materials, structural metals and related components (OJT).
o Working knowledge of occupational hazards and the ability to follow safe work practices.
o Strong background and ability to read and understand complex machining drawings and CAD Models.
o Ability to communicate (oral/written) and work effectively with others.
o Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with other IEA employees in the performance of inspection duties.
o Ability to plan, organize and assign work and conduct inspection activities on a thorough and consistent basis.
o Working knowledge of radiator manufacturing—parts, materials and methods.
o Skill in using and maintaining appropriate high precision inspection tools and equipment including 3D Scanner, CMM, calipers, and other various gages.
· Education/Experience:
o High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in engineering, quality Management, business or related field preferred; relevant certifications are a plus.
o 3 years supervisory - required.
o 5 years ISO required
o 3 years quality management - preferred.
o 5 years ERP (Syteline) - preferred
