    This team works collaboratively on naval engineering contracts supporting the Navy, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), and other commercial customers to drive innovation and deliver solutions that address the complex challenges.

    As we continue to expand our operations and partnerships, we are seeking a visionary and experienced Chief Scientist of Naval Programs to lead our cutting-edge research initiatives from our

    Norfolk, VA

    office.
    As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for validating and developing all current and future software testing.

    The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of naval technology.


    You will work very closely with the team to drive validation of new and existing features, and you will be responsible for reporting and investigating issues that are detected.

    Additionally, you will help the ABL team provide high reliability and scalability through testing and automation.


    In this role you will:
    Develop methodologies and tools to ensure high reliability
    Perform functional, stress, integration, and performance tests on multiple levels within the system including software simulation, hardware-in-the-loop automation.
    Develop tooling/automation to improve the efficiency of validating the software.
    Identify effective test strategies for new/existing features and craft test plans accordingly.
    Analyze issues detected during our tests or reported by others and work closely with developers to fix issues and validate software changes
    Find software bugs through manual testing, automated scripting, and report investigation.


    Qualifications:

    To be successful in this position you will:

    Bachelor's in Computer Science, Physics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or proof of exceptional skills in related fields, with practical software engineering experience.

    US citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (post employment)
    2+ years of Automated scripting experience plus 5

    years Software Testing Experience.
    Proficiency in Linux OS, prefer Debian and Red Hat Enterprise distros.
    Experience in test automation tools such as Selenium
    Demonstrable experience solving difficult QA problems (scalability, reliability, reporting, parallelization, etc).
    Experience in designing automation frameworks and developing test automation software.
    Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Gitlab/Github
    Ability to travel up to 2 weeks a quarter.

    Preferred Skills:
    Knowledge of Python
    Knowledge of C++
