- Manage and implement a comprehensive choral curriculum for Middle and Upper School students, including Middle School choirs (5th, 6th, 7th & 8th Mixed ensemble), Upper School choir, and other possible Fine Arts electives, depending on the applicant's skills.
- Design and guide dynamic choral rehearsals tailored to accommodate the diverse skill levels and interests of students. With help from the staff accompanist and voice studio instructors, cultivate musicality, promote music literacy, and ignite a passion for singing while nurturing the whole child; encompassing physical, emotional, and intellectual development.
- Produce a number of choir concerts throughout the year (as well as music for other school events, e.g., commencement) with students performing a diverse repertoire, representing different musical periods, styles, and cultures.
- Direct the Middle School musical and assist with the Upper School Musical.
- With the support of the Director of Fine Arts, provide students with off-campus opportunities such as state and national festivals, local and state competitions, and other authentic experiences.
- Work closely with academic, athletic, and other arts faculty to create a cohesive and supportive environment for our students.
- Engage in and seek out, professional development opportunities that contribute to ongoing growth.
- Foster an atmosphere of belonging within the educational setting where students from various backgrounds feel empowered and represented.
- Invest in the Oakridge community through attending events, supporting students, and speaking positively about the school.

Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in music, music education, or related field; master's degree preferred.
- A passion for arts education and belief in the transformative power of the arts in student development.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience in a middle school/upper school setting.
- Proficient in choral conducting, vocal pedagogy, and music theory, with a diverse repertoire spanning genres and periods, including contemporary and global music. Skilled in multilingual diction and innovative and effective rehearsal techniques to inspire students and elevate choir performances.
- Proficient on keyboard.
- Demonstrated knowledge of a child's social/emotional development and appropriate curriculum and methods for culturally responsive teaching and learning.
- Motivated collaborator willing to work on interdisciplinary projects and performances, fostering a cohesive environment within the Fine Arts Department and across campus. A team-player with strong interpersonal skills and a positive spirit, adept at working with diverse populations and perspectives.
- Clear communicator with ability to liaise with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Strong organizational skills to effectively engage with state organizations and adhere to their policies and deadlines, coordinate schedules for on and off campus student opportunities, manage resources, equipment, and facilities, and engage with students, staff, parents, and external entities.
