Job Description
GRANTS FINANCIAL OFFICER , to perform comprehensive pre- (20%) and post-award (80%) financial research management.
Will coordinate the preparation, review, and submission of proposals; advise principal
investigators/project
leaders; monitor financial performance of grants and contracts; ensure compliance with university and sponsor policies; prepare
reports/analyses/forecasting ; and ensure timely close-out of grants.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED
:
Bachelor's degree; five years' experiencewith decision-making responsibilityin accounting/finance or nonprofit research administration; experience with federal contract terms/conditions, administrative rules, cost principals, and regulations under OMB guidelines; experience working in pre- and post-award research administration and sponsored programs; knowledge of budgeting theory and practice, including reporting
requirements/procedures
related to federal, state, and related grants, cost accounting, government accounting, and auditing; familiarity with electronic research administration requirements from a variety of sponsoring agencies; knowledge of budget preparation and administration and financial
recordkeeping/reporting ; proficiency analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating contracts; financial
management/forecasting
skills; discretion with confidential information/issues; excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, customer service, and verbal and written communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and the internet; knowledge of enterprise financial systems, grants management tools, and multidimensional databases; and meticulous attention to detail.
Must be able to multitask, prioritize, simultaneously manage numerous awards with varying degrees of complexity, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; learn new procedures/systems; contribute to a team effort to create, improve, and streamline work processes; interact effectively with a variety of constituents; and work independently and as part of a team.
PREFERRED
:
Financial administration experience in a
university/hospital/nonprofit,
experience working with federal sponsors, knowledge of general accounting principles, and experience with Cognos and BrioQuery.
