Job DescriptionThe Energy Management Project Performance Engineer (PPE) will perform integration activities of key program attributes for specific vehicles with responsibilities including but not limited to:
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with EMAT Project Performance Lead to summarize Energy Management related parameters for the Program Team.
- Support in creating and updating the Energy Management Scorecard.
- Present technical status through oral presentations and written reports on vehicle performance, fuel economy, driveability, and electrical demand targets.
- Generate work requests for Energy Management science teams.
- Analyze fuel efficiency, acceleration performance, and capability using test data and simulation evaluation.
- Review and approve data from Energy Management science teams.
- Work with extended teams to identify tradeoff opportunities between VDE, PSE, driveability, and risk mitigation plans.
- Validate customer functional objectives for Energy Management.
- Participate in validation trips to ensure Energy Management targets are met.
- Collaborate with Energy Management science teams for benchmarking and future-driven vehicles.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
- 3+ years of experience in product/propulsion system development.
- Understanding of ABC coast down coefficients derivation.
- Knowledge of VDE sensitivities and tradeoffs.
- Experience in fuel economy and/or VDE simulation tools.
- Proficiency in Powertrain and Electrified Powertrain Systems.
- Experience in fuel economy testing and data analysis.
- Knowledge of vehicle testing - chassis dyno, engine dyno, and vehicle coast down.
- Familiarity with featuring and Driven benchmarking.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and writing skills.
- Proactive in learning and self-improvement.
