    Job DescriptionQuality Inspector Job Description

    We are currently seeking a Quality Inspector to join our team at our facility in Peoria, IL, As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet our quality standards through the use of various measuring tools and equipment.

    Responsibilities:
    • Utilize Calipers and Micrometers, Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), and Measurement Gauges to perform quality inspections
    • Conduct quality inspections on products using Faro machine brand
    • Apply shop math skills to accurately measure and inspect products
    • Read and interpret blueprints to ensure products meet specifications
    • Document and report any quality issues or discrepancies
    Qualifications:
    • Prior experience in quality inspection
    • Proficiency in using Calipers and Micrometers, Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), and Measurement Gauges
    • Strong shop math skills
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
    • High School diploma or GED equivalent
    • Valid Driver's License**General Purpose

    **

    Inspects fabricated parts and completed assemblies using appropriate measuring instruments to ensure compliance with customer designated specifications by performing the following duties:

    **Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    **

    Determines from blueprints and other documentation the methods of inspection, gages, tools, and setups required for checking dimensional and other specifications of production parts and assemblies.

    Inspects first-piece production parts using measuring instruments needed to verify that the parts conform to designated specifications.

    Assist machine operators with inspection practices and procedures in the application of information on blueprints to produce parts that are in conformance to specifications.

    Inspects completed parts and assemblies to confirm conformance of items to be shipped to customer specifications on material, dimensional tolerances, weld parameters, identification, painting, surface cleanliness and coatings and other designated requirements.

    Tags parts and assemblies identifying the appropriate product status and records information of all inspection activities on various documentation in compliance with current quality control procedures.

    Inspects purchased parts and raw materials using measuring instruments needed to verify that the items received conform to designated specifications

    Maintains excellent attendance to eliminate production and shipment disruptions.

    **Education and/or Experience

    **

    Three to six months related work experience or training on the job with a qualified person who has performed this function and has a thorough knowledge of the equipment and its total functions.

    High School education or equivalent.

    **Language Skills

    **

    Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprint drawings, process specifications, other customer designated specifications and quality control procedures.

    Ability to read, understand and interpret measuring devices such as rulers, tape measures, micrometers, combination squares, protractors, test indicators, thread gages, plug gages, calipers, and other instruments or equipment, in metric and English.

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as company routing sheets, rules, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedural manuals and other documents in English.

    Possess above average human relation skills and be able to communicate effectively verbally or in writing with all levels of co-workers, suppliers and customers.

    **Mathematical Skills

    **

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

    Ability to convert metric/English units of measure.

    **Reasoning Ability

    **

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    You should be proficient in:

    • Blueprint Reading
    • Quality Inspection Experience
    • High School / GED
    • Shop Math Skills
    • Driver's License
