- Plans, coordinates, and performs preventive maintenance to be performed on equipment, machinery, tools, and/or buildings
- Reviews manufacturers' service manuals, facility's usage schedules, and records of maintenance problems, inspection, and repair reports to determine optimum frequency of preventive maintenance they are to perform
- Studies production and operation schedules and confers with staff to determine when to perform planned maintenance to avoid interference with operations of facility
- Schedules and performs inspections of equipment, machinery, tools, and/or buildings
- Estimates costs associated with scheduled maintenance
- Maintains records of planned and completed maintenance they have performed
- Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other material by applying appropriate welding techniques
- Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine appropriate welding process to be used
- Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness
- Conducts tests on new components and to locate defective components in systems, assemblies, and systems based on test criteria and using test equipment, as established by the policies and procedures and/or written test plans
- Maintains accurate records of test results and provides reports of results to management
- Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities

- High School graduate or GED equivalent
- Minimum 1-2 years maintenance experience
- Two (2) years of experience in TIG and stick welding processes, testing processes and equipment, and commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures with the welding field
- Ability to use, maintain and possess required hand tools necessary to perform task assigned
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and sense of urgency
- Demonstrated ability to perform repetitive tasks with focus on quantity and quality
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to pass a welding test and obtain a certificate
- Ability to prioritize with an emphasis on quality of work
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrates a high level of customer service and strong communication (both listening and speaking) and interpersonal skills
- Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s)
- Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance and/or completion of a craft apprenticeship or technical certification
- Greater than 2 years of experience as a maintenance technician
- Ability to complete a pulmonary function test and a fit test to wear a respirator which requires the individual to be clean shaven with the exception of a mustache not extending beyond the edges of the mouth

Position Summary
The Preventive Maintenance (PM) Technician/Welder is responsible for performing preventive maintenance on equipment, machinery, tools, and/or buildings is performed on a routine basis at previously established optimum frequency.
The Preventive Maintenance Technician/Welder is also responsible for the daily operations of welding techniques, various types of weld preparation, welding procedures, and application of welding equipment, welds finishing operations, and utilizing welding knowledge to manufacture a product per the customer drawings, specifications, or other form of instruction.
