Background Requirements
BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical field of study
Demonstrated expertise in product & assembly design for different manufacturing processes
Demonstrated use and experience with CAD software; PTC Creo preferred
Detailed understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills including 8D Problem Solving Process.
Experience working in a vehicle related business preferred.
Job Responsibilities
Lead the design process of vehicle related components and modules from concept to production for sustaining production line support as well as new product development and technology projects.
Ensures technical rigor for all projects assigned (Specifications, DFMEA, DVP, APQP, and Technical Design Reviews).Perform project related assignments and work directly with all functions of the organization to ensure project success with respect to Quality, Delivery and Cost.
Transform market requirements into system, subsystem and component requirements.Leads cross functional team to create DFMEAs and DVPs (Design Validation Plans)
Utilize PTC Creo to design & develop mechanical components, subsystems and systems
Create and release component and assembly drawings using GD&T when appropriate
