    The History, Philosophy, Politics, Global Studies & Legal Studies Department at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time position as a Visiting Assistant Professor, Legal Studies and Business Law. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2024, with an option to start earlier.

    RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach undergraduate courses in legal studies and business law in the Caudill College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and the Smith College of Business and Technology (business law). The significant service component of this position is assigned to assisting the University in its FMLA, Title IX, and ADA compliance, the student conduct process, as well as offering support in general employment law matters.

    REQUIREMENTS: JD from a law school approved by the ABA or Association of American Law Schools, current or prospective active bar license in Kentucky, and documented practice experience with employment law, FLMA, Title IX, or ADA. Strong consideration will be given to candidates who have prior experience representing institutions of higher education in employment law related matters.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with secondary school law for teaching relevant courses in an Ed.D program.
