SummaryThe MRI Supervisor supervises MRI Technologists and manages the MRI Department. This will have a significant role in the administration or preparation of the departments or the organization's budget.
Responsibilities
Supervises the efficiency and completion of various diagnostic MRI studies and evaluates Quality Control.
Schedules patients to ensure smooth running of the department.
Sorts requests and ensures that they are properly triaged.
Maintains and updates safety standards according to current MRI safety guidelines.
Assists in solving the departmental problems, as they arise.
Attends meetings and passes the information on to the Technologists in monthly departmental meetings.
Completes Section Meeting Minutes.
Helps the Technologists with cases, if needed.
Maintains all safety precautions while administering treatments.
Prepares performance evaluations for MRI Technologist.
Reviews Time cards (totals the hours).Ensures smooth flow of day-to-day activities.
Assists Radiologists with questions or problems.
Calls for maintenance or service of equipment, as needed.
Maintains files and logs for repairs.
Monitors supply levels and requests additional supplies as appropriate.
Prepares daily report forms.
Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Continuous Improvement plan to identify improvement opportunities.
Possesses and maintains understanding of the principles of growth and development as they pertain to all age groups.
Assesses data reflective of the patient's status, and interprets the information needed.
Ensures development and implementation of organization-wide and unit specific age-specific, safety, security and infection control standards.
Provides leadership through planning, organizing, coordinating, continually monitoring and evaluating the quality of services provided.
Allocates adequate resources, commensurate with authority to assess and improve services provided.
Communicates the organization's mission and vision to all staff.
Assumes responsibility for preparation of budget proposals for new equipment or additional personnel, and all other department budgeting aspects.
Ensures staff participation in required education programs and appropriate orientation and training courses to maintain competency in job skills, knowledge and equipment.
Ensures that employees respect the rights, privacy and property of others at all times, including the confidentiality of information, according to Administrative Policies and all applicable laws and regulations.
Performs all other related job duties as assigned.Experience
Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience. Management experience is required.
Education
Graduation from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology with additional training in MR is required.
Credentials
Florida State license as a radiology technologist required.
ARRT certification is required.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and any additional applicable life support certification for Healthcare Providers is required upon hire with at least 6 months validity and maintenance at JHS for the duration of employment .
