- Serves as primary Security Specialist for the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) Operations Group Command's Physical Security (PHYSEC) program, providing technical and administrative PHYSEC support.
- Identifies and/or resolves difficult and complex PHYSEC-related security problems; negotiates and/or gains concurrence on non-routine and controversial PHYSEC-related security issues.
- Recommends a variety of PHYSEC equipment including intrusion detection systems (IDS), access control systems, duress systems, closed circuit television (CCTV), fencing, lighting and barriers to effectively protect personnel, facilities and assets.
- Monitors key control system, mobility badge system and command badge system to ensure adequacy and regulatory compliance.
- Supports the Industrial Security Program, developing and reviewing the Performance Work Statements (PWS) to ensure they are aligned with the DD 254 for that contact.
- Supports the Information Security (INFOSEC) program for JRTC Operations Group and subordinate elements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- May require Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 10% of the time.
- During crisis or from tasking, may be required to work overtime or irregular shifts.

Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series
