With offices on both the East and West coasts, an inviting culture and above-standard benefits, opportunity abounds for the right individual Information Systems Security Officer San Diego, California As a growing Department of Defense Contractor, AUSGAR Technologies is expanding its workforce and has an opening for an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) working in the Point Loma area of San Diego, California
AUSGAR is currently seeking an Information Systems Security Officer to support the execution of Risk Management Framework (RMF) work strong understanding of National Security Agency (NSA) requirements
ISSO will be responsible for Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) compliance, program/project Configuration Management (CM) and compliance with NAVWAR Technical Authority products and processes
The scope of this effort includes examination of the system architectures, engineering processes and cybersecurity functionality
Leverage expertise in administering US government security policies and procedures for multiple programs as the Information System Security Officer
Create Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages using Risk Management Framework for computer networks using government standards, including ensuring systems are operated, maintained and disposed of in accordance with security policies and procedures, as outlined in the security authorization package
Work with NSA to ensure cybersecurity requirements are being met
Maintain responsibility for hardware and software control, computer security briefings, educating users within the security program and ensuring business needs are met
Work with systems administrators to ensure all systems security procedures are being followed in accordance with the applicable System Security Plan (SSP) and Security Control Traceability Matrix (SCTM)
Ensure audit files are maintained and reviewed in accordance with client requirements, offer sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems and provide focused solutions
Manage system administrators as needed for software patch installation and antivirus updates
Conduct security self-reviews and Continuous Monitoring (CONMON) requirements
Lead CM efforts to coordinate any changes or modifications to hardware, software or firmware of a system to ensure compliance with configuration management policy

Must have a current Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance
Must have or be able to obtain within six months of hire, a DoD 8570 IAT Level III cert, i.e.
, CISSP, CASP CE, CISA, GCED, GICSP, CGICMust have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science/Information Systems/Cybersecurity from an accredited university, five years plus of applicable experience with cybersecurity and two years plus applicable experience as an ISSO or ISSM
Must have experience working with NSA on processes and procedures
Preferably ISSO/ISSM/IAM experience directly supporting NSA
Experience with operating systems and configurations, including LAN, WAN, or VLAN.
Experience with VM environments
Knowledge of XACTA or eMASS
Knowledge of the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process for DoD computers
Knowledge of National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), DCSA Assessment and Authorization (A&A) Process Manual, Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG), Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 703, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and associated National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) publications
Knowledge of incident handling, including data spills for unclassified and classified systems
Knowledge of virtual environments and hypervisors
Salary Range:
$110-150K An essential qualification for this position is successfully obtaining a security clearance issued by the Federal Government, which may require successful completion of a background check
AUSGAR's salary range is dependent upon a variety of factors, which include experience, skills, education, certifications and geographical location
Our salary range includes a base salary and excellent benefits package as part of our total compensation
