    In this position, you will provide technical support for Robotics Customer Service front end, Robotics & Discrete Automation Service & Digital Platform, delivering superior, professional service, remotely or on site.

    You will be responsible for responsiveness, communication and continuous follow, the key components of providing excellent customer service to our customers.

    As a member of the ABB US Robotics Service Team, the Robotics Field Service Technician position has a high impact on corporate revenues and on effectively servicing customers.

    This person is a primary interface between the customer and the ABB Robotic Service Organization and plays a significant role in determining the Company's image as viewed by the customer.

    The field organization is greatly dependent on this person's efficient follow through and communications.

    Your responsibilities

    Repair, integrate and commission Paint Robots and peripheral paint equipment.
    Learn new and current products through formal class training, on the job training and virtual classes.
    Perform on call emergency repairs of ABB Robotic system equipment in the field.
    Provide system integration support of ABB robots to designated build shops as well as the end users.
    Perform robot program changes such as logic, software and path alterations through either off line or on line methodology.
    Have mechanical aptitude for performing any mechanical component repair or replacement.
    Provide robot specific or systems training in an informal environment to customers as required.
    Have knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) communications and other robotic peripheral equipment.
    Communicate with customers (external and internal) in high pressure situations and maintain strong customer relationships
    Travel on short notice and handle rigors of air travel.
    Submit Sales leads for additional Robotic and system opportunities.

    Your background

    High School Diploma or GED and minimum 6 years of mechanical, electrical, robotic, controls or engineering experience OR Associate's degree in a technical field and minimum 4 years of mechanical, electrical, robotic, controls or engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree and minimum 2 year of mechanical, electrical, robotic, controls or engineering experience
    Alternatively, possess a special combination of education & experience and / or demonstrated accomplishments
    Minimum of 1 year electronic and mechanical skills preferred but not required
    Good electronic and Mechanical Experience
    Mechanical aptitude for performing any mechanical component repair or replacement
    Knowledge of PLC communications and other robotic peripheral equipment
    Formal training or equivalent experience preferred with the ability to read and understand Electrical drawings
    Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Windows)
    ABB Robotics experience is preferred (not required)
    Strong desire to travel
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    Ability to communicate with customers (External & internal) in high pressure situations and maintain strong customer relationships
    Excellent organization Skills, Detail Oriented
    Customer Service Background Highly Desirable
    Ability to work with little or no supervision
    Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
