- Drive industrialization of new CNC capital equipment investments, developing standard processes and becoming a subject matter expert of the equipment.
- Create new and modified CNC programs for turning, grinding, and milling.
- Display the ability to understand machine functionality within the business and solve program problems efficiently and quickly.
- Provide on-site support troubleshooting CNC programs with operators and the engineering team.
- Create new programs upon request and work with the operator through tryout and certification.
- Evaluate tool, insert, fixture, machine, and technique selection to drive a process to success. Take ownership of process until certification.
- Recommendations, business case analysis and execution of new manufacturing technologies to drive continuous improvement.
- Experience with robotic programming for plasma spray, waterjet, and CMM programming is a plus, but not required.
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of Engineering experience supporting manufacturing operation and/or developing machining programs; OR Advanced Degree and 3+ years of relevant experience.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this position; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access and handle sensitive data required to support our government and military programs.
- Degree in STEM field; Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering fields preferred.
- Experience developing and verifying CNC programs using a CAM environment, setting up CNC equipment, modifying programs at the controls using "G and M codes, and proving-out programs to produce a quality-compliant first piece.
- Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings, blueprints and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) symbols.
- Experience working with MS Office, SAP ERP, Unigraphics NX and Vericut preferred.
- Manufacturing Engineering experience within Aerospace or Aftermarket (MRO) industry
- Organizational and project management skills, PMP certification preferred.
- LEAN, Continuous Improvement, and/or CORE, ACE, Six-Sigma training and experience.
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization including senior level management.
- Must be a team player and have a strong ability to work with cross-functional teams to develop, troubleshoot and implementation of new and existing programs.
- Strong business acumen, with ability to prioritize tasks in a demanding environment and make sound business decisions.
- Previous experience operating CNC lathe machines
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and measuring instruments such as micrometers
- Strong blueprint reading skills and understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques for loading and unloading parts from machines
