    Overview

    The Housing Authority of Salt Lake City (HASLC) is a Special Purpose Government Agency funded by the federal government. They aim to provide rent subsidies and support affordable housing for low-income residents in Salt Lake City.     General Purpose as a Housing Stabilization Case Manager

    The Housing Stabilization Case Manager plays a crucial role in assisting families eligible for the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Housing grant. This program offers short-term rental assistance like rent payments, security deposits, and application fees. The Case Manager delivers short-term case management services to ensure families maintain stable housing and prevent a return to homelessness.

    Essential Functions of Housing Stabilization Case Manager

    • Provide case management services to families participating in the TANF Family Housing Program, which includes completing necessary forms, setting goals, creating budgets, offering employment leads, and making referrals.
    • Respond to clients, providers, and communities. Maintain client files according to guidelines.
    • Regularly record meetings in the computer database.
    • Meet with participants regularly to track program progress. Conduct accurate exit assessments for departing clients.
    • Assist in internal and external audits.
    • Establish and foster positive relationships with partner agencies, external organizations, landlords, and service providers in Salt Lake County.

    Requirements

    • Desired Skills & Experience of Housing Stabilization Case Manager
    • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field with a minimum of two years of case management, social work, or relevant experience; or a comparable mix of education and experience.
    • Maintain and cultivate partnerships with community collaborators.
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong organizational, time-management, and detail-oriented skills with the drive to meet deadlines and accomplish goals.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
    • Capability to engage and communicate with individuals from various socio-economic, ethnic, and racial backgrounds.
    • Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
