    BWXT's Nuclear Operations Group - Lynchburg is currently seeking a TRISO Fuels Engineer for its Lynchburg, VA location

    Provides engineering support for the fabrication of Uranium Based Fuels (both metallic and ceramic) for commercial applications such as Next Generation Nuclear Power (TRISO Fuel).

    Participates in the troubleshooting of issues arising in existing equipment and assists with the deployment of new equipment.
    Supports production operations as the technical lead and subject matter expert for the assigned area of responsibility.
    Supports shop floor operations and resolution of fabrication issues.
    Generates process improvement ideas.
    Prepares Operating Procedures and Electronic Shop Floor Routings.
    Assists in the development of equipment designs and fabrication methods to successfully fabricate Uranium Based Fuels.
    Creates training plans for shop floor personnel and participates in the training activities.
    Evaluates process data to determine efficiencies and consistency of process. Makes recommended modifications/improvements based upon data evaluation.
    A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
    Must possess at least seven (7) years of engineering experience.
    Must possess previous experience with design, refurbishment, and/or deployment of ceramic powder manufacturing equipment.
    Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

    A background in Sol-Gel processing, CVD/PVD coating, fluid bed treatment, and/or nuclear chemistry processing for Next Generation Nuclear Fuels (i.e.

    However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.

    Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
