    Electrical Engineer

    Responsibilities:

    The following is a list of the essential duties and responsibilities that are expected of the Electrical Engineer position; however, additional duties may be assigned, as required.

    • Design, develop, and test processes for producing prototypes and long-term production of products.
    • Define quality control criteria and safety guidelines.
    • Test products and processes and evaluate results to identify problems and estimate cost of resolutions.
    • Produce detailed designs and/or CAD drawings, acting as technical expert on products and processes.
    • Analyze and improve existing processes and products, including updating documentation.
    • Utilize technical expertise to develop and lead product design projects, supervise product validation testing, drive to root cause for quality and reliability issues, interpret technical agency standards, and conduct projects in accordance with standard engineering practices.
    • Responsible for electrical analysis, comprehensive design and control, overall electrical performance of HVAC components and systems, including providing support to manufacturing and applications engineering.
    • Develop, design, and implement engineering processes, procedures, and systems.
    • Identify and recommend improvements in products, systems, or processes for improvements.
    • Conduct engineering or systems analysis to analyze application or operational feasibility and explore alternatives.
    • Plan and schedule projects, tests, and changes to optimize utilization while meeting established time schedules and budgets.
    • Ensure product quality and conformance to industry standards.
    • Perform tradeoff between implementation, schedule and cost and resource constraints, and recommend alternatives.
    • Provide technical feedback and consultation to others involved in system design or implementation activities.
    • Prepare product documentation, operating instructions, and review technical literature.
    • Perform detailed calculations to establish standards and specifications.
    • Inspect installations and observe operations to ensure compliance with design and equipment specifications and safety standards.
    • Support manufacturing department with product development and testing.
    • Keep current with the latest technical innovations in electrical engineering.

    Education/Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
    • 5+ years related systems or engineering experience
    • Effective and professional communication, analytical, problem solving, and organization skills.
    • Current technical knowledge and skills relative to business requirements and state of the art information technologies.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment; ability to work collaboratively with user, and flexibility and adaptability to changing situations.
    • Ability in modeling, and theoretical reasoning in the support, creation, and design of complex systems; ability to use several modeling techniques; ability to help users model in their own domains and in their own language.
    • Comprehensive understanding of PCBs, fusing, wire sizing, harness design, motors, fans, actuators, contactors, sensors
    • Controls background with HVAC equipment: compressors, coils, fans
    • Experience with electrical safety, value engineering principles, and standardized parts
    • Experience with CAD systems: Inventor, Solidworks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, Eagle, LabVIEW, Beckhoff TwinCAT

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
