    About Duke Health's Patient Revenue Management Organization

    Pursue your passion for caring with the Patient Revenue Management Organization, which is Duke Health's fully integrated, centralized revenue cycle organization that supports the entire health system in streamlining the revenue cycle. This includes scheduling, registration, coding, billing, and other essential revenue functions.

    Must be available 7:30am-5:00pm Monday-Friday

    Occ Summary

    Coordinate and parly and timely. Disseminating messages according to practice communication participatin g in various duties associated with clinic preparation process, patient identification, patient checkin/out, charge posting, cash management and patient appointment scheduling. Position also involves customer service , messagedistribution, ancillary scheduling, preparation, and referral m anagement.

    Work Performed

    Prepare forclinic visits b y reviewing next day patients and completing next day preparation activi ties. Enter pre-visit orders and prepare new patient charts. Pickup X-ra ys, office charts, medicalrecords, reports, petty cash and collections b ag. File history sheets, ancillary reports and all other requiredpatient record documentation.Return medical records. Attach HIPPA/Medicare docu ments to the encounter forms.Check-in patient upon arrival in thepractic e. Identifycorrect patientinformation in Maestro Care. Verify patient d emographicdata. EditMaestro Care as needed. Accurately identify the appr opriate accountfor patient visit. Present and educate patients on requir ed forms andobtain signature as required by policy and procedure. Comple tes allMaestro Care check-in files and manage all appropriate alerts.Col lectand post co-payments and balances on accounts due.Imprintall patientspecificchart documents and requisition/transmittaldocuments. Copy,file anddistribute insurance cards as indicated by procedure.Coordinateall la bs/procedures as requested. Maintain private physicianoffice charts.Prep areencounter forms. Investigate and account for missing encounterforms. Audit encounter forms for completeness and accuracy beforebatching.Batch esencounter forms or charge posting in Maestro Care.Schedule testsand pr ocedures. Complete and distributeancillary service requisitions.Explainb illing to patientsaccording to PRMO credit and collection policies. Dete rmine the amountof cash to be collected based on insurance plan.Check-ou tpatients. Make return appointments by scheduling patients intothecorrec t appointment type, entering the primary care physician orreferrinnddeli ver messages to physicians, nurses andothers. Report obtainedmedicg phys ician and scheduling tests and procedures.Answer telephone, take aalinfo rmation from patients and referringphysicians accurately, completetandards. Will work front desk entire shift if needed andor short.

    Strong verbal andwrittencommun ication. Basic PC and data entryskills. Knowledgeof medical terminology and telephone etiquette.Demonstratedability toorganize and prioritize w ork, provide oral andwritten instructions, interact tactfullywithcustome rs and establishand maintain effective relationships with others. Must b e able to applyspecific departmental policiesrulesand regulations relating toverifying patient information, collecting paymentsandmaintainingrec ords and forms.
