Position Purpose A Nephrologist is an individual who is trained in the medical evaluation and treatment of kidney and hypertension related disorders as well as electrolyte abnormalities both in an inpatient an outpatient setting.
The individual will be proficient at treating acute kidney injury as well as chronic kidney disease up to and including renal replacement therapy and referral for kidney transplant.
Physician will be comfortable managing stable outpatient kidney transplant patients as well as kidney transplant patients in the hospital and chronic kidney conditions such as glomerulonephritis as well as vasculitis with renal manifestations.
The physician will participate in telemedicine for the above conditions as appropriate.# # # Nature and Scope The incumbent obtains history, examines, diagnoses, counsels, and treats patients within the physician#s area of specialty and experience.
The incumbent makes critical decisions regarding medical care.The incumbent works closely and in cooperation with the management staff, directs comments and questions to the appropriate management person and follows administrative policies.
The incumbent actively participates in physician governance meetings, management decisions, and follows policies adopted by Renown Health and its medical staff.
The incumbent stays abreast of current advances in medicine by reviewing recent publications, attending in-services and educational meetings, and attending continuing medical education programs in the appropriate field.
