    Summary The Smithsonian Institution is the world's largest museum, education, and research complex, with 21 museums and the National Zoo.

    This position is located in the National Museum of the American Latino (NMAL), Under Secretary for Museums and Culture, Smithsonian Institution (SI).

    NMAL connects with audiences as a national museum dedicated to enriching the appreciation of America's Latino heritage and empowering Latino American communities in their sense of inclusion in the national culture.

    Responsibilities The Social Media and Digital Strategy Manager creates and distributes digital content across various platforms, including blog posts, podcasts, videos, social media, and the museum's website.


    In this position, you will:

    Develop and manage digital and social media strategies and launch new platforms, such as blogs, podcasts and web channels.

    Plan, execute, and optimize social media advertising campaigns across multiple platforms (i.e., videos, social media, websites, etc.). Maintain and evaluate internal and external partnerships to collaborate, plan, and execute social media and digital communications programs. Interpret data from social media and digital marketing platforms to measure performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. Requirements Conditions of Employment Males born after 12/31/59 must be registered with Selective Service. Requires fluency in written and spoken Spanish.

    Experience:

    You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal Service.

    For this position, specialized experience is defined as creating and distributing digital content across various platforms, (i.e., blogs, podcasts, videos, social media, and websites); collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to plan and execute social media and digital communications programs; and providing metrics and reporting on social media and digital communications efforts.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

    Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

    You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    Part-time and/or unpaid experience related to this position will be considered to determine the total number of years and months of experience.

    Be sure to note the number of paid or unpaid hours worked each week. Education There are no basic education requirements for this position. Additional Information This position is not included in the bargaining unit.


    Current or Former Political Appointees:
