    1. Perform testing and evaluations of raw material, bulk, and finished products in accordance to written procedures. 60%


    • Ensures current standard operating and test procedures are utilized.


    • Documentation records are accurate and in compliance with GMP requirements.


    • Develops and maintains understanding of various testing methodologies, including appropriate techniques and potential errors.


    • Always maintains neat and accurate records and clean and organized work areas.

    2. Ensures product quality specifications and customer standards are met and maintained to the Customers' satisfaction. 20%


    • Ensures test results meet current specifications prior to completion/approval.


    • Performs batch adjustments as needed in batch making procedures.


    • Trouble-shooting out of specification (OOS) situations.


    • Ensures current reference and product standards are properly maintained.


    • Updates test procedures and specifications as needed.

    3. Utilizes data to focus improvement efforts so customer requirements and regulatory regulations are met. 10%


    • Accurately records all data (cGMP) and pertinent information


    • Accurately documents monthly Key Quality Incident (KQI)


    • Documents OOS situations, determines root cause, and suggests possible solutions


    • Maintains compliance with current regulatory expectations and practices (e.g. USP)

    4. Understand and maintain a culture of "lean action" within the department so that we live lean better than any other organization

    Additional Skills & Qualifications:

    4 year degree in chemistry, biology or related science discipline and/or equivalent experience is needed.

    0-2 years GMP lab experience; prefer a minimum of 6 months experience in a Chemistry lab environment such as pharmaceutical, cosmetics, personal care, food processing, etc.

    This position will use a pH meter, Brookfield spindle viscometer, analytical balances. It also requires visual and odor inspections daily.

    Not required but a plus is experience with solution preparation, wet chemistry titrations, HPLC, GC and UV.
