    Basic Function

    As a member of our dynamic team, you will provide the site engineering participation in the identification and resolution of mechanical related problems and define improvement opportunities that will positively impact quality, capacity and mechanical reliability. The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer provides daily technical support to operations and maintenance personnel. This position is the first point of contact for maintenance issues and reliability improvement efforts.

    Roles & Responsibilities
    • Troubleshooting and solving equipment problems.
    • Performing condition assessments.
    • Developing repair scopes.
    • Providing QA/QC requirements.
    • Optimizing preventive maintenance procedures.
    • Providing technical support for capital and expense projects.
    • Providing support for outages.
    • Participating in or leading Root Cause Failure Analysis.
    • Performing investigations.
    • Resolving maintenance/reliability issues.
    • Supporting major unit turnarounds.
    • Communicating improvements.
    • Optimizing the balance between minimizing maintenance costs and maximizing equipment performance.
    • Using applicable software to evaluate, document and communicate findings, recommendations and results.
    • Providing technical training to maintenance and reliability personnel.
    Min. Qualifications
    • The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 4 years relevant work experience in the refining or petrochemical industry.
    • Knowledge of maintaining and monitoring pumps, turbines, compressors, stationary equipment and applicable codes and standards is required.#LI-CB1
    • Must be able to effectively evaluate equipment performance and trouble-shoot equipment & process problems through the use of critical analytical skills.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with rotating equipment/machinery maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting is preferred.
    • Experience using process parameters (temperature, vibration, flow, pressure, etc.) to troubleshoot equipment issues is preferred.
    • Experience with developing new equipment specifications according to specific standards (API 610, ASME B73.1, etc.) is preferred, but not required.
    • Certification as a Cat II Vibration Analyst is preferred, but not required.
    • Experience with stationary equipment (piping, vessels, heat exchangers, etc.) maintenance and repair is preferred.
    • Experience with piping/support design and installation is preferred, but not required.
    • Experience with tank maintenance and repair (API 650 / API 653) is preferred, but not required.
    • Previous involvement in capital project design and implementation is preferred, but not required.
    • Civil engineering experience is a plus, but not required.
