Job duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Follow documented procedures, standard work, routings, and blueprints to perform safe and defect free operations.
Hand weld all plain and alloy structural steel in all positions.
Use of jib or gantry crane to manually position weld equipment.
Grind and dress fabricated weldments.
May operate forklift, scissor lift and area lift to access weldments.
Required Qualifications:
1+ year experience in welding
Experience with Flux-cored arc welding (FCAW)
Experience with 3-5 Multi Pass welds on Heavy 1" Plate
Safety first mindset.
Ability to work overtime to support production demands.
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
3+ years' Experience with Flux-cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
Experience or knowledge of back gouging, carbon arcing or air arcing
Understanding of quality requirements and ability to execute.
Ability to read blueprints.
Ability to work well individually and in a team environment.
Ability to work overtime to support production demands.
Additional Information:
This position is located at the Caterpillar manufacturing facility located in South Milwaukee, WI.
2nd and 3rd shift available
Pay starts at Step 1 $27.00, Step 2 $28.10 after passing 2 of 5 tests, Step 3 $29.21 after passing 4 of 5 tests.
Once employee passes all five required certification tests, will be placed at Step 1 of Welder pay scale $30.75; Step 2 $31.94, Step 3 $33.12 plus shift premium of $1.00 for 2nd shift or 3rd shift.
Full Time (40 hours, 5 days/week)
No relocation assistance is available.
