    Description
    Summary You will serve as a RIGGING WORKER in the LIFTING & HANDLING DEPARTMENT, CODE 700, of PSNS and IMF
    Duties


    • You will select and attach hoisting and pulling gear for lifting, moving and positioning heavy machines, items of equipment, large structural parts and other heavy loads.
    • You will estimate weight and center of gravity of load to be moved, plan weight distribution and load maneuvering and attach appropriate lifting gear.
    • You will direct operators of cranes or other weight handling equipment by standard signals.
    • You will maneuver, tilt, and control loads as necessary by means of attached lines and riggings or may be assigned to direct others in these tasks.
    • You will assist in ship docking operations by laying out and handling lines with capstans

    fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals)
    You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.


    • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
    You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
    Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying

    Before performing diving duties, the incumbent must be a graduate of U.S
    Navy Second Class Dive school and be a certified U.S
    Navy Second Class Diver or above
    Diving qualifications are maintained in accordance with OPNAV
    PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ)
    To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation

    To be considered well-qualified and exercise selection priority as an ICTAP candidate, displaced Federal employees must satisfy all qualification requirements for the position and receive a rating in the highly qualified category (score 85) or higher
