    Responsibilities

    Job Summary / Purpose:


    The Regional Director of Infection Prevention plays a critical role in ensuring that patients, staff, and visitors are protected from the transmission of diseases and infections.

    They develop and maintain a comprehensive infection prevention program and provide support in all infection prevention-related activities.

    This includes compliance with accreditation standards, state and CMS regulations, Board of Stewardship Trustees established goals, performance improvement, mentorship of new Infection Preventionists, and education within their respective geography.


    Essential Key Job Responsibilities:

    • As the Regional Director of Infection Prevention, you will standardize infection prevention strategies, workflows, and priorities to maximize the efficiency and impact of the department across facilities within the region. You will also establish ongoing assessment and development of Infection Preventionists new to the profession by creating pathways to certification through ongoing mentorship.
    • Your expertise in established guidelines by AAMI, AORN, CDC, IDSA, and APIC will help support acute care and non-acute care compliance with Hospital Accreditation Standards, State and CMS regulations, and other external audits within infection prevention standards.
    • You will strategize performance improvement initiatives that promote consistency in adoption and improved patient outcomes across facilities within the region.
    • You will collaborate with facilities to verify accurate and timely submission of data to internal databases and external agencies. As the Regional Director of Infection Prevention, you will represent the region on strategic decisions and initiatives within the Infection Prevention Council and Supply Chain Standardization committees.
    • You will collaborate with national, regional, and facility leaders to implement standardized Infection Prevention strategies within the region.

    Qualifications

    Requirements:
    To qualify for this position, you must have a bachelor's degree in a related healthcare field (e.g. Nursing, Microbiology, Public Health) with a minimum of three years of experience in acute care and five years of Infection Prevention leadership. You must demonstrate adeptness in supporting the development of programs focused on achieving positive outcomes within infection prevention.

    Experience in an integrated health system is preferred, and experience in a matrix management environment involving the integration of multiple entities is also preferred.


    License:

    • Certification in Infection Prevention and Control by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC) is required.

    $ $90.64 /hour
