    Job Title: Progressive Care Unit RN

    Location: San Diego, CA

    We are seeking experienced Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurses to join our team for an immediate travel nurse opening. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience and be proficient in providing high-quality patient care.

    Job Summary:

    The Progressive Care Unit RN will care for patients who require close monitoring and frequent assessment but are not unstable enough to need ICU care. This role involves utilizing computer equipment to monitor cardiac and other vital information, detecting any changes and enabling intervention in life-threatening or emergency situations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide basic bedside care and stabilize critical cardiac patients.
    • Perform procedures such as changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs.
    • Administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
    • Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients and interpret electronic displays.
    • Initiate corrective action when monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.

    Requirements:

    • BLS certification required.
    • NIH and ACLS certifications preferred.
    • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience.

    Working Conditions:

    This is a fast-paced environment that requires good stress-coping skills and the ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds. PCU Travel Nurses must be able to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty, and easily lift 20 pounds. Lifting of up to 50 pounds may be required at times.

    Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year
