- Conducts maintenance and service work of existing Electronic Security Systems (ESS) to include, but not limited to, access controls, intrusion detection, and camera systems. Specific systems include, but not limited to: Softwarehouse Ccure 9000, American Dynamics, Axis, and others.
- May install security devices and infrastructure at times in accordance with installation plan according to the national electric code, company and customer guidelines
- Assists with security system programming and setup.
- Conducts testing to ensure proper operation of equipment after installation or repairs
- Conducts testing of system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
- Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and handles necessary records for notification of emergency calls.
- May help prepare estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions from supervisor
- Conduct End-User training.
- Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.
- Performs other duties as required
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience installing, inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing commercial or industrial integrated / electronic security systems for complex low voltage intrusion, access control, CCTV and digital recording systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and operational product manuals.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, while establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
- Capable of using hand and power tools to properly mount and secure equipment
- Works well unsupervised and also as part of a team environment
- The ability to obtain and maintain a government Q clearance through the Department of Energy (DoE). Active clearance preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency working with Softwarehouse C-cure 9000
- Proficiency working with commercial and/or industrial camera systems. Experience working with American Dynamics preferred.

Job DescriptionSalary: Pay grade: 169We are seeking a commercial or industrial Electronic Security Technician to join our federal team supporting the Knolls Power Atomic Laboratory and the Kesselring Naval Nuclear Lab in Niskayuna, NY. This role will primarily be responsible for the maintenance and service (corrective maintenance) of various commercial size access controls, intrusion detection, and CCTV systems.

Location: Will support the Knolls Power Atomic Laboratory and the Kesselring Naval Nuclear Lab in Niskayuna, NY. All work is based at this location. No additional travel is required.
Pay: $ $40.00 per hour, based on experience. Company vehicle is provided
Shift: Primarily First shift (day shift), Monday-Friday. Will need to support on-call at times for emergencies.
Benefits: Eligible for benefits on first day of employment
Vacation: 3 weeks of paid vacation, 3 floating holidays, 5 sick days, and 10 standard holidays per calendar year (6.5 weeks in total)
