    Description
    Position Summary: Reporting to the Vice President of Finance and Administration, the Finance Director will be a key contributor to the senior leadership team with day-to-day responsibility of the accounting, finance, and treasury functions. This professional will also work with the Vice President of Finance and Administration on strategic planning, compliance, pricing, and internal controls. Candidates with strong DoD contracting experience with small to medium businesses are preferred.

    Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Generate monthly financial statements for executive leadership and Board of Directors
    • Monitor, manage, and forecast revenue, expenses, and profitability
    • Lead the finance staff in the monthly closing process and ensure all transactions accurately recorded
    • Collaborate with program managers to ensure financial health of projects
    • Direct preparation of audited financial statements, budgets, and tax returns
    • Ensure compliance with DCAA, GAAP, CAS, and Uniform Guidance financial regulations
    • Prepare Incurred Cost Submissions, Indirect Cost Rate budgets and other reports/documents for government (local, state and federal) regulatory agencies
    • Work with VP of Finance and Administration to ensure that effective internal controls are in place to safeguard the assets of the Corporation and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations
    • Prepare cash flow projections and cash planning to maximize effectiveness of resources
    • Monitor banking activities of the Corporation
    • Along with contracts staff and technical team, develop pricing for CPFF, T&M, and FFP proposals
    • Supply financial information and technical expertise to other senior management to ensure that ongoing business decisions are developed in alignment with the Company's mission, philosophy and goals
    Education, Certification, Skills, Capabilities:
    • Preferred CPA and/or MBA
    • Excellent leadership, written and verbal communications skills
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen, preferably (not required) with an active security clearance
    • Extensive knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles
    • Experience with government contracting financial including indirect rates, unallowable costs, invoicing, and other concepts as required by FAR, GAAP, DFAR, DCAA, and CAS
    • Ability to analyze financial data and direct the preparation of financial reports, statements, and projections
    • Working knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting, and financial analysis
    Ideal Candidate Profile:
    • A financial professional with broad business knowledge and willingness to roll up sleeves to work the details
    • 15 years of experience in a growing small to mid-sized government contracting organization
    • Experience with nonprofits and academic institutions, including working knowledge of the OMB Uniform Guidance and IRS reporting requirements
    • An energetic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image
    • A well-organized and self-directed professional who is a team player with the ability to lead a small team of professionals
    Primary Work Location: Work is to be performed in Arlington, VA with remote work flexibility under Hybrid Work & Telecommuting Policy.

    Special Work Conditions:
    • Possible travel to other offices/locations in VA.
    • Occasional work outside of corporate core business hours.
