    PRIMARY PURPOSE:

    Supervises and coordinates daily activities of Athletics grounds maintenance operations to ensure athletic grounds are safe, neat, and attractive

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    Education and Certification Requirements
    High school graduate or GED equivalent
    Valid Texas driver's license, insurable with Judson ISD insurance carrier, and a good driving record
    Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check
    Special Knowledge and Skills
    Knowledge of Athletic Field maintenance
    Ability to operate riding or power mower, power tools, and hand tools
    Ability to direct and supervise personnel in a positive manner and coordinate grounds operations
    Ability to read and interpret field layout dimensions

    Experience:

    Minimum of (2) two years supervisory experience

    OR
    Minimum of (3) three years of verifiable groundskeeper experience

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
    :

    Ensure compliance of District directives and Maintenance policies and safety procedures by personnel assigned to district grounds
    Coordinate the scheduled day to day activities of the area assigned and oversees completion
    Schedule assigned work orders and obtains required material
    Assist Grounds Supervisor and/or Director of Maintenance in evaluating employees in his/her group
    Inventory materials and tools assigned to his/her shop
    Complete required paperwork for daily time logs, work orders and equipment repair request
    Prepare quantity takeoffs and material needs for assigned projects
    Ensure that all safety procedures are followed by his/her department
    Establishes care and watering schedules, including spraying, fertilizing, pruning etc
    Operate and maintain riding and power mowers equipment used for grounds operations
    Inspect grounds and facilities to initiate needed repairs, for buildings, fences, and gates
    Ensure restrooms, Locke rooms and other athletic facilities are cleaned and maintained as needed
    Instruct assigned personnel on proper and safe use of tools and equipment
    Ensure that vehicles, equipment, and tools are in safe operating condition
    Correct unsafe conditions in work area and reports any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately
    Recommend replacement of existing equipment
    Work extended work hours and/or work weeks as required throughout the year
    Perform other duties as assigned, based on department needs
    Must complete designated district technology proficiencies each year
    Requires a basic knowledge of technology/computer skills
    Ability to use personal computer to access district programs, emails, and other resources
    Maintain a consistent professional demeanor and appearance
    Ensure compliance with the Texas Educator's Code of Ethics
    Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job
    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    Monitor and provide evaluation input of Athletic grounds persons
    Equipment Used:

    Office equipment – personal computer, printer, calculator, multi-line telephone, software programs and peripherals, copier, fax, and other equipment applicable to position
    Mower; riding and power mower; gas-powered weed trimmer; blower; edger; sprayer; garden and hand tools; aerator
    Mental Demands:

    Ability to read, concentrate, communicate effectively (verbally and written), interpret, reason, understand verbal instructions, memorize, coordinate, compile, compute, analyze, differentiate
    Work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress
    Physical Demands:

    Frequent:

    Sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs and/or ramps, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive hand motions, hearing, speaking clearly, visual acuity, distinguishing colors, driving, traveling
    Occasional:

    Lifting, heavy, 45 pounds or more
    Frequent exposure to:

    temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, noise, low or intense illumination, vibration
    Occasional exposure to:

    biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc.), work outside, work around moving objects or vehicles, work on uneven surfaces, work alone
    Work prolonged or irregular hours
