    The

    Conflicts Analyst

    will ideally be located in one of Marcum's locations,

    which include one or more offices in:


    Nashville, TN; Southeast and Tampa, FL; Boston, MA; NYC Metro; Chicago Metro; Cleveland, OH Metro; Philadelphia, PA; Washington DC metro; Portland, Maine; Providence, Rhode Island; Harford and Southern, CT; San Francisco /San Jose, CA; LA and Costa Mesa, CA; and Houston, TX.

    Remote work is available for the correct candidate.

    An understanding of independence and potential conflicts in an Assurance context is REQUIRED. Knowledge of conflicts of interest in an Advisory context is preferred.

    The role is a combination of researching potential clients during the client acceptance process using Marcum's Conflict Check Engine (MCCE), working with engagement teams to resolve potential

    independence

    and other potential

    conflict


    issues, enhancing and streamlining Marcum's current processes, raising any potential issues to the Independence Group or appropriate Service Line Leaders.

    The role will report to the Partner in charge of Independence and the Conflicts Manager.

    Requirements

    ·

    BS in Accounting or equivalent

    ·

    3+ years related experience

    ·

    Attention to detail and organizational skills

    ·

    Knowledge of professional standards and regulations regarding independence in an assurance context

    ·

    Experience researching client's organizational structure

    ·

    Excellent project management, verbal and written communication skills

    ·

    Detail oriented with the ability to analytically identify issues, recognize and take appropriate action or recommend possible scenarios to solve problems

    ·

    Ability to serve on cross-functional project teams as a platform subject matter expert

    ·

    Ability to manage own work plan and schedule to successfully meet goals with tight deadlines and minimal supervision

    Preferred Requirements

    ·

    Certified Public Accountant

    ·

    Understanding of Conflicts in the context of Advisory Services within an accounting firm

    Essential Job Functions

    ·

    Initiate and perform

    Conflict

    Searches during the Client Acceptance Process of all engagements using MCCE

    ·

    Understand the process for resolution to any potential independence or other conflicts

    ·

    Work with the Service Line Leaders, Independence Group, and IT to implement new processes and enhance current systems
