    Job Description:

    The Department of Criminology and Political Science at Texas A&M University—San Antonio is looking for a part-time Adjunct Instructor of Criminology and Criminal Justice. Expertise is welcome. Candidates must have at least 1 year of university teaching experience and the ability to conduct face-to-face classes. The appointment will start in Spring 2024 with continuity based on course availability.

    This adjunct role focuses solely on teaching. Courses may be scheduled during daytime or evening hours as per departmental requirements, mostly in-person.

    Required Education and Experience:

    • Master's degree in Criminal Justice or a related field from an accredited university
    • Minimum of 1 year of university teaching experience

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    • Doctoral degree in Criminal Justice or a related field from an accredited university
    • Relevant practitioner experience
    • Teaching experience across a variety of criminal justice courses
    • At least 3 years of university teaching experience
    • Familiarity with the Blackboard Learning Management System
    • Track record of teaching excellence

    Finalists must submit two current, original recommendation letters to the Search Committee Chair. Official transcripts must be sent directly from each degree-granting institution to the Office of Academic Affairs. International transcripts require translation and evaluation by an approved credential evaluator.

    Selected candidates will undergo a background check prior to employment.

    Required documents include: application, Curriculum Vitae (CV), cover letter, and contact details for three references.
