    *Must be able to commit to a 3 day a week in office work schedule, plus walk down and site visits

    Job Description:

    • Previous experience developing and managing cost estimates for electrical or gas infrastructure.
    • Understand joint-pole agreements, right-of-way procedures, licenses, permits, etc.
    • Identify requirements and design specifications for new and existing gas facilities.
    • Estimate cost of materials, labor, contractor services and equipment for above and underground utility construction projects.
    • Prior experience working in Maximo to access cost data.
    • Perform analysis of estimated vs. actual costs and units for completed projects.
    • Responsible for the timely re-estimate of existing work packages to support field changes when applicable.
    • Evaluate and document historical cost data for the development of future estimates.
    • Prepare and review final estimate packages to ensure estimates are accurate and complete.
    • Must be capable of interpreting contract language.
    • May perform site visits on a limited basis to inspect and document existing field conditions.
    • Makes field sketches for improvements to electric or gas systems using utility standards, specifications, rules, and regulations.

    Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of gas and or T&D construction including Federal, State, and company codes and regulations.
    • Knowledge of estimating best practices including understanding scope, engineering quantities, constructability, indirect build up, quantifying estimating uncertainty, identifying and calculating risk & opportunities.
    • Be able to develop a Basis Of Estimate, Assumptions, Exclusions, and all other underpinning documentation.
    • Have the skills to defend estimate during challenge sessions.
    • Previous Sage/Timberline estimating software experience required.
    • Strong Computer skills MS Office (strong knowledge of Excel), Primavera P6, PowerBI, GIS, work management system (preferred).
    • Demonstrated ability to improve processes and create efficiencies.
    • Ability to read and understand contract documents, drawings and specifications.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects.
    • Must be located within 1 hours of Newark, New Jersey
