- Complete technical evaluations related to applications and fee calculations for the Water Quality Division of the TCEQ.
- Evaluate applications for all individual permit application types; sludge registrations and water quality general permit authorizations, to ensure completeness, and compliance with state and federal policies, and guidelines. Provide rule and policy interpretation for applicants, their representatives and the general public.
- Draft Notice of Deficiency (NOD) letters using agency correspondence guidelines with no substantive errors. Track and evaluate applicant responses to NODs within established time frames.
- Declare applications administratively complete by accurately preparing the Notice of Receipt of Application and Intent to Obtain a Permit (NORI) for individual permits/registrations; acknowledge general permit authorizations by generating a Certificate of Authorization.
- Maintain and update application and permit data in the Internal Data Application (IDA) Authorization and Remediation Tracking System (IDA-ARTS), PARIS and Access databases. Update the Lean Management System Performance and Flow board.
- Experience working with state and/or federal regulations & officials.
- Experience drafting and preparing letters, reports, memos, and/or other correspondence.
- Experience working in multiple databases completing data entry assignments.

This position is a member of our Water Quality Division.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
As a part of the division's Water Quality team, our License & Permit Specialist III will play a key role in achieving TCEQ's mission. You would use your skills and experience to:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from a standard senior high school or its equivalent plus five years of full-time experience performing administrative and/or technical support activities.
*Fifteen semester hours of accredited college work may be substituted for each six months of the required experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES
This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the License & Permit Specialist III-IV state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the License & Permit Specialist III-IV series.
