    Day (United States of America)Full-Time on-site in Newburyport, MA.Reporting to the Director of Patient Access is responsible for coordinating and ensuring the efficient operation and quality service with all hospital departments, physicians and the public. Works closely with the director to maintain and coordinate the schedule for patient access staff in the main registration area and the emergency room. Responsible for obtaining and recording accurate, complete and factual information, relative to the registration of patients, for the purpose if creating legal records and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. This position requires a high level of customer service to patients, physicians both in person and by telephone.

    Job Description:


    + Ensures that staff utilizes work time efficiently and that all duties and responsibilities are completed before the end of the shift.+ Works closely with management to assure the smooth and seamless operation of the department at all times.+ Provides assistance with the training, orientation and ongoing job development of all employees.+ Provides input to management regarding competencies of staff.+ Reports clerical and computer issues originating from or related to the patient registration process which delays patient wait time or other hospital areas. Improves and maintains good communication among all staff to achieve the goals and objectives set forth for the office and the hospital.+ Interviews patients or their designee to secure personal, social and financial data sufficient to support the patient's.+ Maintains interdepartmental communications and works with others to identify and solve any issues identified.+ Works closely with the Director to develop policies and procedures as needed.+ Periodically reviews policies and procedures and makes recommendations for change.+ Directs work flow, breaks and lunch schedules in conjunction with the department director.+ Ensures the staff has adequate tools to perform their tasks. Keeps track of departmental supplies and informs director new supplies need to be ordered.+ Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and assists with improving the skills of staff if needed.
