- Set and attain short-term and long-term recruitment and enrollment goals in consultation with senior leadership.
- Supervise recruitment and admissions activities for undergraduate, graduate, and readmission applications.
- Manage the admissions process from initial inquiry to enrollment.
- Produce enrollment reports with accurate data on recruitment, admission, and conversions to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure prompt and accurate processing of applications.
- Streamline admissions review for common application and liaison CAS systems.
- Coordinate admissions functions with the Financial Aid and Registrar offices.
- Facilitate seamless transfer of student records from Admissions to the Registrar's Office.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate office policies, procedures, and the student information system of the Admissions unit (including oversight of systems like Slate and PowerCampus).
- Direct, recruit, supervise, and mentor Admissions staff.
- Oversee the creation, updates, and design of marketing materials, display content, and website activities for admissions recruitment.
- Create and execute a communication plan for inquiries, prospective, and admitted students.
- Manage the department's budget.
- Participate in meetings, graduate fairs, and conferences to stay informed on existing and new admissions and recruitment policies, practices, and procedures.
- Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
- A master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related field.
- Five to seven years of progressive experience in admissions counseling or academic advising across various student populations in schools, colleges, or universities.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with a diverse community of faculty, students, staff, and external contacts.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, interpersonal, presentation, and management skills.
- Ability to analyze and interpret information accurately.
- Possess exceptional organizational skills, with the capacity to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and pay close attention to detail.
- Proficiency with standard office equipment and Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Showcase strong writing, editing, and proofreading abilities.
- Address complex issues in a clear, thoughtful manner and resolve them efficiently without compromising relationships.
- Listen attentively and respond effectively to resolve concerns and interests of students, campus constituents, guests, vendors, and other parties.
- Work autonomously and manage time efficiently.
- Hold a valid driver's license in the State of California.

Located in the Watts-Willowbrook area of south Los Angeles, Charles R. Drew University was established in 1966 following the Watts uprising. The university was created to combat inadequate medical services in the region and offer fair medical education opportunities to under-represented students.
Charles R. Drew University houses the sole historically black Doctor of Medicine program west of the Mississippi River and is deeply involved in the local and regional community. By spearheading various partnerships and initiatives, the university ensures equitable healthcare access across different neighborhoods in South Los Angeles.
The primary role of this position is to provide leadership, direction, and coordination for the university's undergraduate and graduate admissions processes, as well as oversee student recruitment marketing efforts. As part of the Enrollment Management team, the Director collaborates closely with the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management to assess the efficacy of admissions and recruitment strategies.
