    In this role you will have the opportunity to plan, oversee, and coordinate improvements to manufacturing processes. You will report directly into the VP of Engineering and implement processes for new product introduction and improve existing product lines as well.

    My client is a small, tight knit company, based in Springfield, that specializes in manufacturing composite materials for the defense industry. They are a close group with many opportunities for advancement as they have a strong track record of promoting from within and letting employees getting involved with projects that interest them in order to learn and grow.

    Description

    In this role you will report directly into the VP of Engineering and be responsible for:

    • Understanding and interpreting engineering drawings and customer specifications thoroughly.
    • Preparing accurate Basis of Estimates for management, including supplier quotes and all costs associated with parts, materials, and labor.
    • Leading New Product Introduction activities, including method of manufacture development, tooling design, and vendor management.
    • Enhancing product manufacturing methods within the company's ERP system.
    • Maintaining and optimizing data within the ERP system and programming the Gerber cutter.
    • Offering technical support throughout the manufacturing process and adhering to deadlines set by VP engineering or top management.
    • Collaborating with various stakeholders, including shop floor personnel, customers, vendors, and upper management.
    • Enhancing safety in manufacturing operations by addressing ergonomic and safety concerns as needed.

    Profile

    The successful candidate will have:

    • 2+ years of Manufacturing / Process Engineering experience
    • Lean / continuous improvement mindset
    • ERP / EPICOR experience is a plus
    • Composite experience is a plus
    • AS9100 familiarity is a plus
