- Evaluate drawings during the Preconstruction Phase to detect any constructability issues or prior failures, and explore alternative solutions as needed.
- Solicit, review, and endorse Quality Plans from subcontractors.
- Assign project team members based on the roles outlined in the Quality Matrix as specified in the Quality Manual.
- Coordinate preconstruction meetings for all relevant trades, reviewing each trade checklist both onsite and in the office.
- Conduct regular project walkthroughs, documenting current status and any deficiencies in Intelex or Procore using designated forms.
- Ensure prompt remediation of all deficiencies, with documentation completed including photographs and signoffs from relevant parties.
- Facilitate manufacturer's representative visits to validate warranties and guarantees.
- Develop project-specific Quality Control plans for unique features, unconventional construction scopes, materials, and products.
- Collaborate with the Warranty team to facilitate a seamless transition and remain informed of any potential warranty issues preventable by Quality measures.
- Conduct meetings with operations, subcontractors, design professionals, and trade partners to address Quality concerns as needed.
- Provide Quality Control perspective assistance with plan and submittal reviews for construction teams.
- Participate in company-sponsored events, task team committees, industry organizations, and recruiting activities.
- Engage in training programs, continuing education, seminars, and conferences to stay updated on relevant industry standards and practices.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of applicable building codes, local and state statutes, and trade manuals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- A Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or a minimum of 10 years' experience in retail, high-rise, or commercial construction.
- Proficiency in computer skills is essential, including familiarity with construction project management software such as Procore, PlanGrid, and Intelex.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities are necessary for direct interaction with trade contractors, owners' representatives, the design team, building departments, and other team members.
- Effective leadership skills are essential for success in this role.
