- As the ADON, you are the second in command of the nursing department and assist the Director of Nursing in all administrative and clinical responsibilities. You will work closely with the DON to improve the quality of patient care and services provided by your team. In her absence, you will oversee the entire nursing department ensuring quality customer service and compliance with all federal, state and local rules and regulations, as well as the policies and procedures.
- Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing (DON), the ADON will be responsible for a variety of administrative and clinical responsibilities such as the skin/wound program and infection control program.
- Provides reports/recommendations as needed/required for the Director of Nursing concerning the operations of nursing services.
- Assists the Director of Nursing in the design, implementation and evaluation of nursing systems to ensure consistent delivery of care and to maintain and promote resident rights.
- Assists the Director of Nursing in ensuring that residents are free from abuse, mistreatment and neglect.
- Assists the Director of Nursing in ensuring nursing staff awareness and compliance with Federal and State regulations relative to resident rights issues.
- Serves on committees, as assigned, including, but not limited to, quality assurance, infection control/skin rounds, safety, etc.
- Valid NYS RN license required.
- 2-5 years' experience in long term care setting.
- Nursing Leadership Experience and knowledge of regulatory standards.
- Prior RN Manager, Education and Train the Trainer Certification is preferred but not necessary.
