Job Description

We are searching for a reliable Certified Dermatology Technician/Surgery Assistant to perform various office and clinical duties to keep our healthcare practice running efficiently. Our Certified Dermatology Technician/Surgery Assistant will work directly with healthcare practice staff to collect skin biopsies, maintain patient records, explain common medical procedures to patients and assist in surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Entering visit information in our electronic medical record system (EMA).

• Entering/updating patient medical histories including medications, allergies, etc.

• Clean and prepare surgery/exam rooms prior to patient appointments.

• Perform patient call backs and scheduling of surgical procedures.

• Assisting physician with skin biopsies and surgical procedures including Mohs Micrographic Surgery.

• Knowledge of sterile technique and operation of an autoclave for sterilization of instruments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience working for a healthcare practice or hospital, dermatology preferred.

• High level of professionalism.

• Proficient in electronic medical record entry, preferably EMA.

• Familiarity with medical tools and equipment.

• Ability to build rapport with patients.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Attention to detail and able to take direction.

• Willingness to learn.
