    Join Quarterhill/ETC as an Information Technology Specialist to help us deliver technical excellence and outstanding customer service in a team environment, where each member radiates our core values of integrity, excellence, collaboration, innovation, and passion.

    Our corporate office is located in Frisco, TX. This opportunity is for someone to work in that local office in a 6 month contract role.


    Works independently under general direction of Quarterhill Director of IT and direct supervision of ETC Information Technology Lead; is highly organized; is able to communicate regularly on project and task progress; responsible for resolving issues in a timely manner; must possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

    Candidates must have strong work ethic and possess the ability to work with minimal supervision.


    Essential Functions:
    The candidate will administer help desk support to users at all levels onsite.

    Tasks will include, but are not limited to:
    On-boarding new employees, including setting up laptops and provisioning accounts to various applications.
    Off-boarding employees, including deactivating accounts and tracking company assets.
    Maintain inventory of hardware and software
    Provide technical assistance and support for all incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software and hardware.
    Ensure company assets are patched and provide regular reporting of the status
    Respond to email messages and ticketing system for customers seeking assistance.
    Ask questions to determine nature of problem.
    Walk customer through problem-solving process.
    Follow up with customers to ensure issue has been resolved.

    Take ownership to monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT service desk and Central Support for escalations.

    Administer user accounts in Active Directory, 3rd party applications as well as internal applications.
    Identify and recommend solutions to re-occurring issues or needs.

    Experience and Skills

    Competencies:
    Ability to triage and understand highly technical software and hardware problems

    Very well organized and ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple issues concurrently
    Excellent ability to communicate (verbally and written) as this position will communicate directly with end users.
    Maintains regular and predictable attendance for assigned shift.


    Work Environment:
    Work will be primarily performed indoors in varied settings like workstations, server rooms and conference rooms.


    Physical Demands:
    Must be able to life equipment up to 40lbs on a regular basis.


    Required Skills and Experience:
    High school Diploma or equivalent required
    Two or more years working in a Support Services/Help Desk environment required
    Intermediate user administration of office 365
    Understanding of PCI and SOC concepts
    Intermediate knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) GPO
    Kowledge of MAC and Linux considered an asset
    Beginner knowledge of PowerShell scripting
