    POSITION SUMMARY

    Assists in the planning, implementation and evaluation of recreational social, intellectual emotional and spiritual programs in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Respects and upholds all residents' personal and property rights whenever carrying out duties, including knocking before entering a resident's room.
    • Complies with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
    • Assists and/or conducts assigned group or one-to-one activity programs according to calendar.
    • Moves and arranges equipment/supplies to assure that activity areas are ready for scheduled activity.
    • Assists residents move to and from activity programs as needed.
    • Is responsible for returning all activity department materials to their proper place in a timely manner and maintaining a tidy, pleasant atmosphere in activity room.
    • Assists Activity Director in developing schedule for activities, distributes monthly activity calendars to residents and posts changes to calendar according to state and federal regulations.
    • Follows resident care plan in providing daily activities for residents.

    Qualifications

    • 1-2 years' experience in related position, in healthcare environment preferred
    • Aptitude for and/or some training in arts and crafts required
    • High school diploma or equivalent desirable
