- Assist licensed Speech-Language Pathologists in conducting screenings, assessments, and evaluations of students' speech, language, munication, and swallowing abilities.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students under the supervision of an SLP, following established treatment plans and goals.
- Lead or assist in facilitating small group therapy sessions, implementing evidence-based intervention strategies and activities tailored to students' needs.
- Support students' use of augmentative and alternative munication (AAC) devices and assistive technology, under the guidance of an SLP.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to reinforce speech and language goals within the classroom and promote generalization of skills across environments.
- Assist in the preparation of materials and resources for therapy sessions, ensuring they are age-appropriate, engaging, and aligned with students' individual goals.
- Monitor and document students' progress and responses to therapy interventions, maintaining accurate records and reporting findings to the supervising SLP.
- Implement behavioral management techniques and strategies to address munication-related challenges and promote positive munication interactions.
- Participate in team meetings, including Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and case conferences, to provide input on student progress and contribute to treatment planning.
- Stay informed about current research, best practices, and ethical guidelines in the field of speech-language pathology, and apply this knowledge to service delivery and professional growth.
- Bachelor's degree in munication Sciences and Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, or related field.
- pletion of a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) program accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or eligibility for SLPA certification.
- Previous experience working with school-aged children, preferably in an educational or clinical setting, is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to municate effectively with students, families, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of speech and language development, disorders, and intervention techniques monly used in pediatric speech therapy.
- Familiarity with augmentative and alternative munication (AAC) systems and assistive technology devices used to support munication.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, following direction and seeking guidance from supervising SLPs as needed.
- Reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced educational environment.
